Jaguar Land Rover opens new test centre in Dubai

Jaguar Land Rover has expanded the engineering capabilities of its Middle East facilities with the opening of a new test centre in Dubai, UAE.

The location will carry out extreme hot weather vehicle research, development and testing, with the temperatures of the city's surrounding desert making it a perfect fit.
 


Jaguar Land Rover has built the 11,120 sq ft facilitiy in the Al Barsha area of Dubai to replace a smaller location in the city.

Skoda to enhance range with second SUV

Skoda is set to add a second SUV to its expanding range of vehicles, as the company seeks to increase its global sales to 50 per cent over the next few years.

The new SUV will be bigger than the already existing Yeti, and is joining other new Skoda vehicles, such as the Octavia estate, Rapide and Octavia hatch.

Skoda's Octavia estate was Europe's best-selling vehicle of its kind in 2012, achieving sales of 124,000, which is a third of all Octavia sales.

Citroen unveils 2013 Berlingo Electric Work Van

Citroen has revealed its 2013 Berlingo Electric Work Van, which comes complete with a 49kW electric motor and a 22.5kWh lithium ion battery pack.

Described by the firm as being able to "meet the transport requirements of a number of significant specialist sectors", the vehicle is the latest electric Citroen vehicle and will go on sale later this year.

Toyota GT 86: A pure driver's car

The most recent incarnation of Toyota's classic GT 86 has been named by as Car Buyer's couple of the year.

It was described as a fine example of what the Japanese car manufacturer does best – understand perfectly "the needs of a target market". In this instance, the GT86 delivers a very focused sports car that is "all about driving enjoyment".
