Chinese owned MG have revealed there latest new car at the 2011 Shanghai motor show which they have high hopes for, so much that they hope the MG5 will take on and match the Ford focus. The new MG5 will be below the MG6 within the MG range and it should be similar in size if not slightly smaller than a Skoda Octavia.
The MG5 will share the same engines used in the Roewe 350 from the Chinese market these will include a 1.5 litre and 1.8 litre petrol units, it will also share the same platform as the Roewe too. Production of the MG5 should be at the same place as the MG6 which started production recently at the old MG Longbridge factory in the Midlands which last built a MG car 6 years ago. The MG5 should be built the same way as the MG6, this means the car parts are all made in china then sent to Longbridge for assembly.
The front of the MG5 features triangular shaped headlights with narrow LED daytime running lights and a mesh grill with air intakes either side. The rear of the MG5 features a spoiler and rear diffuser, overall shape of the new MG5 looks a lot like the Renault Magane Sport.
We should expect to see the MG5 in the UK in early 2013 and prices are said to start from around £13,000. The MG5 will be available on competitive car leasing deals from Lease-Cars-Direct on MG Personal Lease deals, MG Business Lease deals and MG Company Lease Car deals. All lease cars are brand new vehicles and all come with free delivery and free car tax for the duration of the lease car term.
