Citroen DS3Citroen has announced they will build a new flagship Citroen and the DS vehicle will be a joint venture with the Chinese group Changan. The new car will be called the Citroen DS5 and will be manufactured in the Far East and should be ready to hit the showrooms in 2014. Citroen hope by building the DS5 in China this will help open doors and be a start of things to come as the Chinese market is a very lucrative market to be in.

The DS5 has taken a major step towards the production line when Citroen revealed the DS5 at the Geneva motor show where it did not disappoint. The new Citroen Metropolis concept which was first shown at last year’s expo in Shanghai definitely fits the bill as a flagship Citroen, at 5.3 metres long and 2 metres wide the new Citroen is longer than the Jaguar XJ as wide as a Maybach and promises to be packed with technology and luxury. Under the bonnet of the Citroen DS5 Metropolis Concept we believe a 2.0 litre petrol hybrid setup with an electric motor will feature and reports say the engine has the potential to produce up to 460bhp, this power will go to all 4 wheels through a seven speed dual clutch gearbox.
