BMW 3 Series GT

BMW will take the 3 Series into a new area of the market by introducing a new BMW 3 Series GT. The new 3 Series GT looks like it's bigger sister the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo and you can just make this out by the camouflaged picture of the 3 Series GT. BMW hope the new GT will pull customers in who are looking for an similar sized car as the BMW 3 Series Saloon or coupe but something that offers that little bit extra luxury and premium feel but without the price tag of a larger vehicle to match.

BMW will promote the 3 Series GT as having the same high standards as you would find on any other 3 Series within the range but by adding extra practicality with such features as higher seating positions for the rear passengers that can also slide backward and forward to aid comfort. The key to this extra room in the BMW 3 Series GT is down to the stretched platform which increases the rear leg room by a considerable amount. Early suggestions from BMW say that both the rear wheel drive and BMW xDrive models will be fitted with BMW’s newest petrol and diesel engines. One of these will include the 4 cylinder 2.0 litre turbo charged engine which has just been added to the BMW X1 range.

We should see the BMW 3 Series GT at the Frankfurt Motor Show before BMW release the New BMW 3-Series Saloon which will debut in 2012.
